At Stepping Stones ABA we begin our program by having an initial meeting with your child and family. As part of the initial meeting, we travel to your home and give the parents insight into our company and our services. We will review all of the prior testing and diagnoses your child has received. We will also have a detailed discussion about your child’s current skills, needs, and behavioral issues. We believe the initial meeting is crucial. This gives us a chance to get to know your family as well as allow you to get to know our family and the tutor your child will be working with throughout the program. Also during the initial meeting, we will cover any costs, insurance issues, or any sort of funding opportunities available.
After our initial meeting, our team will provide you with an initial assessment. This initial assessment also takes place in your home while we use standardized assessment techniques to get a professional insight into your child’s disabilities. During the initial assessment the tutor will work 1:1 with your child as well as have another detailed discussion with you about your child’s current skills and challenges. The information we gather from the initial assessment helps us create the customized program of your child. We will monitor and keep track of all future assessments to provide progress updates and also monitor and tweak the program to be of greater benefit to your child.
After our initial assessment, we will begin the ABA tutoring program for your child. Our trained tutors will provide 1:1 training following the customized plan and ABA techniques. We also provide consultation and family training as part of our 1:1 tutoring.
