Who We Are

At Stepping Stones ABA, we believe that our individualized therapy is the best way to help children with their disabilities. All of our sessions are designed to help children thrive and engage in the place they know best and feel most comfortable in. We offer children the opportunity to engage in activities to meet their developmental needs and that allow for growth and development. At Stepping Stones ABA we treat each program for each child differently. We modify and customize as needed for each child.

We believe that family comes first. We will work with the child’s family and take their input into the development of our therapy plans as well as our own professional opinions. The trained and certified Stepping Stones ABA team works with each of our clients at least one time a week in their home, depending on insurance plans.

From our inception in 2007 to the present day, with a team of over 50 employees covering Wake, Durham, Johnston, Wayne, Harnett, Lee and Moore Counties in North Carolina, the team at Stepping Stones ABA remains true to our dedication of working with our children and our families. At Stepping Stones ABA, all of our therapists are trained by certified supervisors. Our team works together to discuss different ABA techniques that will help our clients reach their greatest potential. We think of our team as a family, just as we believe family comes first. We work with each other and work closely with your child and family to create individualized therapeutic programs.

Meet Our Certified Supervisors

Rebecca Miller

LPA, BCBA, & Owner

Rebecca Miller MA, LPA, BCBA received her Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology from East Carolina University in 2004. She is a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Rebecca developed a love for working with individuals with autism while working as a “hands on” ABA tutor. After working as a Staff Psychologist at a residential facility for individuals with developmental disabilities, she opened Stepping Stones ABA, Inc. in 2007 in order to return to her true passion, serving individuals with autism and their families.

Katie Dunham Scott

BCBA, Clinical Director

Katie Scott, MS, BCBA, began working in the field of Autism as a CAP worker (Client Assistive Program) as a part-time employee in 2005. She quickly learned how challenging, inspiring, and mysterious Autism can be and how it affects an individual and their family on a daily basis. Originally a Nursing Major, Katie met Rebecca Miller through a client they both worked with. Rebecca introduced and trained Katie in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) methodology to apply with this client on a daily basis. Once Katie was able to see how impactful and beneficial these services were for the client and their family, she changed her major and built her career by becoming a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). Katie holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and a Master’s in Psychology with a concentration in ABA from Kaplan University. After completing all fieldwork requirements, she subsequently obtained her BCBA in August 2014. Katie values the opportunity to work with children and families using ABA methodology to help everyone embrace Autism in their lives.
