This is the age where children begin to have the awareness and life experiences that allow them to start processing their actions and the world they live in. ABA programs that target specific developmental areas and utilize creative, cumulative concepts can help children begin to experience the progress and milestones they crave. Intensive therapy can make it possible for autistic children in the elementary school age range to begin to interact with their world and stimuli around them. This communication may not always be in the way we are accustomed, but it can be the starting point in the critical assimilation process that will dramatically improve quality of life in the future.
In our experience, home-based ABA therapy allows children and their families to address autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) in comfortable surroundings, where stress can be reduced and therapists can utilize familiar activities to draw out their clients. This is also a stage where our therapists welcome the opportunity to work with our kids’ teachers and school administrators to provide consistent training, messaging and goal setting at home and school.
Stepping Stones ABA is proud to serve active military, state employees and other families in central North Carolina. If you live or are based in communities such as Raleigh, Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Durham, Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Lillington, Garner or Clayton, as well as military installations such as Ft Bragg, Pope Air Force Base and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, we welcome the opportunity to talk further.
If you believe your child is in need of a trained ABA therapist, please contact us by phone, 919-810-1459, by email [email protected], or by filling out our contact us form to the right.
